Installation
Install at 70°F or above. Clean the hitch trim area with a wax-free cleaner and let dry. Test fit the plate to confirm alignment. Peel the backing and press firmly from center outward. That's it.
FAQ
Why does the hitch area fade so fast?
The plastic trim surrounding the hitch receiver is exposed and unprotected — UV, road grime, and weather hit it directly. Toyota uses unfinished black plastic in that area which oxidizes and fades noticeably within weeks of the hitch being installed or the plug removed.
Does this cover the entire hitch receiver housing or just the trim plate?
It covers the visible trim plate area around the receiver opening — the part that shows when looking at the rear of the vehicle. The receiver tube itself remains open and fully functional.
Will my hitch still be usable after installation?
Yes — the plate is designed around the receiver opening and does not block it. Hitch ball mounts, bike racks, and accessories attach normally.
